News: IPCPR Tables Trade Show Consumer Day

IPCPRThe International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers Association (IPCPR) had plans to unveil two new events at this year’s upcoming 2013 Annual Trade Show and Convention:  1) open the show-room floor for to the general public during the last day of the trade show; 2) host a celebrity roasting event.

In previous communications sent out to IPCPR members, these events were going to be “paid for” events to help generate revenue to off-set rising operational costs.

Yesterday, IPCPR CEO Bill Spann sent a follow-up email to members stating both events were now being tabled in lieu of an increase in annual membership dues.  According to the email:

“Lobbying and promoting the agenda of the International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers Association has continued to grow and the number of issues we face is increasing. It is for this reason the IPCPR Board finds it necessary to increase annual dues by $100.  The new dues will also include a free informational membership to your individual IPCPR state association.”

The email also explained the importance of continuing the fight for premium cigar and pipe tobacco rights.  Together with Cigar Rights of America, the IPCPR does a great deal of behind the scenes work to help promote specific premium tobacco issues and defend our smoking freedoms.
